Poor Justin Bieber. His insane fans, and more insane enemies, may keep his name hot in search trends, but that’s not always a good thing. Over the past few months, we’ve been noticing some BIZARRE hot searches on Google Trends about Bieber, ranging from salacious details about his, um, anatomy, to rumors of him converting to Scientology. Some of them are really quite disturbing. We put together all the ridiculous screen grabs we could find in the slideshow below. Tell us which ones make your jaw drop by voting!

NEW YORK — It may seem like only yesterday that Usher was a teen prodigy. But the precocious young singer who rose to fame in the ’90s is now a 31-year-old divorced father of two young sons, and he’s a mentor in his own right.
Unwinding in a Midtown TV studio after an appearance, Usher speaks enthusiastically of his new album, Versus, and upcoming tour, which launches Nov. 10. But he appears especially pleased, and grows more playful, when the subject turns to his toddlers — and to a certain tween heartthrob he has helped groom and guide.

“I call him the single Beatle,” Usher says of Justin Bieber, 16, his protégé and pal for the past two years. Bieber is managed by Usher’s business partner Scooter Braun, and Usher introduced the fledgling idol to record company exec L.A. Reid, who signed him on the spot — just as Reid signed Usher more than a decade earlier.

“I feel as if God specifically placed (Bieber) in front of me, because of how I started,” says Usher, who keeps in touch with Bieber via his BlackBerry and his Twitter account. “I understood the hardships of trying to find yourself in this industry at that age, and I wanted him to have an instant, organic connection to his fans. And he’s done that. He just has these natural talents — and some you haven’t even seen yet.”

Usher is, predictably, just as effusive discussing his sons, Usher Raymond V, 2, and Naviyd, 1. “Life can weigh you down, but children pump blood back into your heart. Their innocence gives you a reason to be open-minded, and they reignite your love for life.”

The kids adore music, “to the point that Usher (V) harasses me and everyone around us to play his favorite song of mine — it’s More, the first song he ever saw me perform. I’d really rather he become a lawyer or accountant, but he may be talented. He’ll just find his way, and I’ll be supportive.”

Usher shares custody with the boys’ mother, stylist Tameka Foster, whom he divorced last year, on amicable terms. “I took a woman’s hand in marriage, and unfortunately it didn’t work out. But it’s damaging when (parents) don’t work together.

“My life isn’t the typical one, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be a traditional father, in my own way. My tradition is loving, being available for my kids. I didn’t have that from my father, so having it will give them greater potential.”

Asked about whether he’s dating, Usher smiles and says, “I’m very single.” He’s not opposed to getting married again, “but I’m in no rush. I want to make sure that I really know what I’m getting into. If someone is out there, I’ll find her and we’ll make it in time.”

Not that anyone would associate Usher’s pursuits with a casual pace. His mentoring extends to his New Look Foundation, which provides disadvantaged young people with grants and training “to motivate them to make a change in their lives. I understand that, coming from a broken home.”

Usher also hopes to do more acting. He especially enjoyed a stint in the Broadway revival of Chicago four years ago: “I can’t recall a more intimate, monogamous relationship I’ve had as an entertainer. You have to show up on time every night, and it tightens you up in every aspect.”

And what of his downtime? “Relaxing isn’t really in my DNA,” he says. “I do meditate. You have to find those moments to focus and process everything.”

And, he says, “I pray — because faith is all we have at the end of the day. You never know which way the coin is going to fall, so you have to stay positive.”

Pop-Ed: Anyone out there who has a teenage son or even a little brother can understand some of the revulsion I feel each time I read about Justin Bieber’s love life in the entertainment press.

Is he dating Kim Kardashian? Did Miley Cyrus steal him from Kim? Yuck! I most certainly hope not on both accounts since Justin is just 16.

If the Biebs were a young lady celebrity, we would be pairing her up with older male celebs, but the standards seem to be different since he is a boy.

But that doesn’t make it any less creepy that cadres of editors, most of whom are well into their forties with children of their own at home, are making claims about the libidinous pursuits of a child.
“Babyfaced Justin Bieber may seem all grown up when he sings flirtatious songs, but underneath he is fragile when it comes to love, because of having been born to an 18-year-old mother who raised him as a single mom,” worries psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman. “The media scrutiny is adding to the problems he will have with love. The photos with Kim Kardashian, for example, were a bit inappropriate. Though both of them tried to downplay any real romance, there was something a bit off about their ‘relationship’. Now reports are that Justin is looking for a girlfriend who is funny, confident and not afraid to be herself. But being herself apparently cannot include wearing Ugg boots or big sunglasses.”

That’s a lot to know about the preferences of a kid who isn’t old enough to shave.

Celebrity watcher and author of “Cult of Celebrity” Cooper Lawrence thinks we are blowing this out of proportion. The loves of of famous kids have always been fair game, Lawrence argues. We are just watching it in real time know instead of on a weekly or monthly magazine schedule.

“It’s not creepy because entertainment weeklies and tabloids have been reporting on the love lives of teen stars since there were teen stars, David Cassidy, Michael Jackson, Donny Osmond (who, by the way, as a Mormon should have shut it down) but they know their appeal is to young love struck girls so it only ads to their mystique,” Lawrence says.

She adds, “Michael Jackson sang about falling in love when he was a pre-teen, even younger than Justin Bieber. And by the way, its his LOVE life, not his sex life that is being reported on plus its also important to remember that their lyrics are about love, crushes, girls etc. Just read the lyrics of ‘Favorite Girl’ ‘or ‘Baby’.”

Because we have more celebrity access, more websites and more weeklies it feels like this is something new, but it is something that has always gone on. We just have more entertainment vehicles now to feed the desire to know more about the Biebster and dating life.

Unfortunately, as Dr. Lieberman alluded to, dating under a microscope during your teen years can lead to unhealthy relationships later in life. Just ask Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.

Another Allentown Fair is in the books, and its grandstand shows in our memories.

But how did the shows stack up this year?

Justin Bieber sold out. Rush almost did. The fair missed the 50,000 ticket mark for its six shows (not including Monday’s demolition derby) by a hair – it reported  47,824 for an average of 7,980 a night. That’s still stellar; by comparison, Musikfest headliners averaged just above 5,000 a night at a smaller venue.

And you have to take into consideration that Weezer’s surprisingly sparse turnout – just 3,354 — brought that average way down. The other acts averaged a crowd of nearly 9,000 a night, which is phenomenal in this economy.

The irony is that Weezer’s show was this year’s best. I didn’t see every show at the fair this year, but I trust my colleagues who did enough to use their reviews as the basis for my ranking of the shows:

1. Weezer — Not only the best show this year, but one of the best at the show in a decade. Rivers Cuomo and company packed (and I mean that – there often was barely a break between songs) with a virtual greatest-hits package, and more – trampoline jumping, visits to the crowd (including the very back of the grandstand) tossed rolls of toilet paper, a Lady Gaga cover and, oh yeah, great playing. The one drawback was that the show was too short: a mere 65 minutes.

2. Keith Urban — For an hour and 40 minutes Friday, the country superstar kept the grandstand enrapt with his voice and guitar. The Australian Urban was that engaging. Through 17 songs, he sang loose and with abandon, soft and sensitive, and fast and fun. And his guitar playing was at least as good as his voice. Opener Kris Allen was good, too.

3. Rush – Rush fans beat me up for my review of this, but apparently missed the part when I said this show was so good it was almost one for the ages. In nearly 2 1/2 hours of music (plus a 25-minute intermission) the Canadian trio played 25 songs, including the entire album “Moving Pictures” sequentially. People focused on me saying that Geddy Lee’s voice didn’t always hit the high notes, but missed  my applauding the fact that he reached for those notes. The fact that this wasn’t the best show of the year says more about the high quality of this year’s acts that any faults of Rush. Sheesh.

4. Justin Bieber – This show sold the most tickets – it was the year’s only sellout – and gave the audience precisely what it wanted: Wonderfully choreographed versions of his hit songs. Lights. Smoke. Adorable Bieber baby photos on the video screen. And supporting act Sean Kingston not only did a great job, but brought his protégé Iyaz on stage to do his hits “Replay” an “Ridin Solo.”

5. Lady Antebellum – An 80-minute, 15-song set of tireless energy and robust vocals from a group that is this year’s top record-seller so far. What more could you ask for? How about a good performance from the opener,  “American Idol” runner-up opener Danny Gokey.

6. Jeff Dunham – The fact that the comic ventriloquist sold more than 8,000 tickets for his third show in two years at the fair shows Dunham’s got his finger on someone’s pulse. The show was filled with a lot of raw humor, some sexual, some politically incorrect, some topical. But all of it kept the audience roaring.

In one of the weirder signs of the times, a tweet from a Twitter employee has said that pop music star Justin Bieber has his own dedicated servers at the company.

According to this article from Gizmodo, Bieber is almost always a perennial trending topic for the microblogging social media site, and uses approximately 3% of Twitter resources at any moment.

The site has approximately 180 million users, and aggregates millions of tweets each day.

Bieber is the new reason for the fail whale. Thanks Justin, just what I needed to know.

We already know that Justin Bieber will leave his sugary sweet pop image behind to tackle some darker territory when he makes his small-screen acting debut on “CSI” on September 23. But in a new promo for the episode, Bieber will have his fans screaming for an entirely different reason.

Following shots of screaming girls and Bieber in his “Baby” music video, the promo voiceover says, “He’s made millions of fans cry tears of joy.” Then the tone of the commercial quickly changes to a shot of Bieber behind bars with a guard falling to the ground outside his cell. The commercial continues, “But this fall on ‘CSI,’ Justin Bieber will make you scream!”

“It seems like I’m this sweet and innocent kid, and then it turns out I’m the mastermind behind everything,” Bieber recently told Teen Vogue about his upcoming appearance on the hit CBS procedural.

As for his part in the episode, executive producer Carol Mendelsohn told MTV News recently that Bieber’s character, Jason McCann, is certainly a different kind of guy than Justin Bieber.

“He’s a troubled young man, raised in the foster-care system, whose hard-luck life has left him scarred and angry,” she said. “At the end of the episode, we’re left with the question: Is Jason a good kid stuck in a bad situation or is Jason a bad kid hiding behind his cuteness? You can see why Justin was such a perfect choice to play this role. … It’s an explosive story.”

In the Teen Vogue article, Bieber went on to say that if given the chance to have anyone play his leading lady in the future, he would love to see one of his good pals in the role. “Selena Gomez. She’s a good buddy of mine,” he explained. “She’s really nice.”

Of course, in real life, there are plenty of women who would love the chance to be Bieber’s leading lady, and he has some advice for them. “Just talk to me. Ask me how I’m doing. Introduce yourself instead of yelling, ‘Justin! Justin! Justin! Can I have a picture?’ And don’t come up to me while I’m eating,” he said. “How would you like it if I came into your house and started taking pictures of you while you were eating? I hate that.”

Justin Bieber has advised his hoards of fans to stop yelling at him and to talk to him instead…just not when he is eating!

The 16-year old, revealed to Teen Vogue that he believes ‘no girls are nervous’ and that his fans should not be scared to approach him for a chin-wag.

The Eenie Meenie singer also added that he feels he ‘can’t get away from himself’ due to his new found fame.

A lawyer working for Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga has threatened legal action against comic book creators over a series of unauthorized cartoon strips.

The Poker Face hitmaker and teen sensation Bieber have both been animated as part of a series of graphic biographies by Bluewater Productions. The Gaga version was released in June and the Baby singer’s comic is due to come out next month.

But the pair’s attorney Kenneth Feinswog is seeking to block the publications – he has served the company with a cease-and-desist letter, threatening to sue Bluewater bosses if the books aren’t pulled.

Publisher Darren G. Davis is refusing to bow under pressure – and insists his animators are well within their rights to create comic strips from celebrities’ lives.

He says, “We are 100 per cent within our first amendment rights. We knew our rights on this before we jumped into the biography world. These are 100 per cent biographies on their lives.

“We reach out to all the celebrities and some choose to work with us and some do not. If they do choose to work with us, we donate ads and money to a non-profit (organization) of their choice. We offered the same deal to Bieber’s people.”

Taylor Swift and soccer star David Beckham have already had comic characters created in their image by Bluewater staff.
